We're Back!!!!!!

Over the past few days, I've received some texts and emails from various people (Papaw John and Aunt Junie, to be exact!) telling me that I am slacking on the blog.  They are correct.  I have been slacking.  So, here's a long post about what's been going on the past few weeks!

The new year brought a new class for Zuri at school.  She moved from the Tiglet (2 1/2 year olds) class to the Tiggers (3 year olds) class.  I wasn't sure how this would go over because Zuri absolutely LOVES Ms. Kensey and Ms. Sam, but she has done well with the change.  She loves Ms. Brooke and Ms. Jenny and still gets to see Ms. Kensey in the mornings.  It's the best of both worlds!  Now, with this move, Zuri has had a first.  Let me start by explaining the system in place at school to show how the children do with regard to their behavior.  The day is broken into 3 chunks of time -- Morning, Midday, and Afternoon.  For each chunk of time, the children receive a green (good), yellow (not good), and red (bad!).  Well, Zuri received her first yellow face in the Tiggers class.  She thinks that if she is awake during the designated nap time, then her friends should also be awake.  She tries to wake them up!  So she received 4 or 5 yellow faces in January.  I know part of it is her age, but I'm hoping most of it is cabin fever - they haven't been outside since the first week of January!  Last Friday, I met Brent and Zuri for dinner and as soon as I sat down, Zuri said, "I got a yellow face."  I said, "Zuri, we talked about this and you are suppose to get all green faces."  Zuri said, "But I got 2 green faces."  She was correct.  She had a green face in the morning and afternoon.  Yellow face was from nap time when she repeatedly tried to wake her friends and then laughed about being in timeout.  She actually had to go sit up front!  Anyway, how do I argue with that?  She was correct --- she had 2 green faces.  UGH!!!  Enough about that.

Since being in the Tigger class, Zuri has learned her days of the week.  She came home one day and just started saying them!

Zuri's favorite movie is Frozen.  We bought her an Elsa dress up gown and she would wear it 24/7 if we let her.  She's actually beginning to be all about dressing up.  She wants to wear dresses and tutus more often now.  Today, she had to put on her necklace and watch!

We've been planning Zuri's 3rd birthday party.  It will be at her dance studio, Stage 1 Dance Academy.  Zuri is super excited.  In fact, about 3 or 4 times a week, she asks when her birthday party is.  She decided on a princess theme.  Miss Katie said the kids would dress up and have makeovers!  I'm sure they will all love it.  I love it because all I have to do is send out invitations!  Miss Katie does everything else --- party favors, cake, drinks, all of it!!!

I think this is a good summary of things that have happened this year.  I'm sure a few people will tell me if I forgot anything!  ;o)

I will leave you with a few pictures.

Zuri and Bri making pizzas at Zoey's in Greenwood.

Zuri sporting her Hello Kitty necklace and watch.

Princess Sofia costume!

This is the dress Bri gave to Zuri and she loves it! (Yes, this is the dress from the first picture too.)

When I told her she couldn't wear her Elsa dress to school, she settled on a tutu.
