Zuri + Having Papaw Wrapped = ????

A TRIP TO THE MALL!!!!!!!!

After we had lunch today, Zuri and I went to the mall.  Zuri asked Papaw to go.  I'm not sure Papaw has ever been to the mall, let alone inside Gymboree and the children's section of JCPenney's!!!  :o)

At JCPenney's, we came across a humongous Olaf from the movie Frozen.  Zuri liked him, but didn't want him (thank goodness because he was way too expensive!).

After we settled on some Sofia the First figurines, we checked out and Zuri decided to carry the bag.  She carried it like a purse.  It was cute!

I am We are glad Papaw went with us.  He kept an eye on Zuri while I shopped around.

Who knows, maybe next time Zuri will sucker talk Papaw into taking her for a mani/pedi?!  ;o)

A New Friend

Today, Aunt Julie came by with LB.  Zuri and LB had never met.  LB was shy at first, but then warmed up (and even started pulling Brent's toes!!).  The two of them played here for a little bit and then we went to lunch.  Zuri started to get jealous before we even left (imagine that).  She wanted to ride in Julie's car.  LB wanted to ride in Julie's truck.  There's only 1 car seat in Julie's vehicle!  So, with some persuasion (Mickey Mouse on my iPhone), LB rode with me and Zuri rode with Julie (Zuri getting her way is unheard of, right?!).  Here's a picture of Julie with both kids before we left.

At Don Pablo's, LB started dipping his gummy bears in the queso blanco!  He must have thought it tasted good.  Who are we to judge?  I had to take pictures though.  ;o)

Julie gave LB her comb so he could brush his hair.  He wanted to brush everyone's hair; even Papaw's!  Of course, then Zuri had to do the same.  I'm not sure either one ever reached his hair.  I think they both just stabbed his head with the teeth of the comb.  LOL

Here's the best picture I could get of the two of them next to each other.  Can you believe they are 2 months apart in age and LB is older?!  He is just small for his age and Zuri is big for her age!!!  The waitress commented on how cute they both were and I'd have to agree!

Happy Birthday, Hayes!

Saturday was Hayes' birthday (Zuri's cousin).  We went shopping Friday night far in advance for his gift.  Zuri picked out a seed & soil kit for herself and for Hayes.  Zuri was excited to get hers ready Saturday morning!  You'll notice she is telling me what we are going to do ("We'll put this in there.").

At the party, Zuri had fun playing around in the play land.  Her favorite part, however, may have been feeding Hayes' little brother, Nash.  :o)

We hope Hayes had a great day!!!

Party Weekend!

We had a fun-filled weekend!  Saturday, Zuri and I went shopping in the morning before going to my cousin's house for some pre-wedding pictures!  After pictures, we headed to Fishers for the ceremony.  We are so very happy for my cousin, his wife, and step-daughter!  After the ceremony, Mommy and Daddy went to get a couples' massage while Zuri and Bri had a sleepover at Aunt Junie's!  Today, after picking Zuri up, we went bowling with Andy, Anne, and Bri.  Then we came home for a couple hours and then back to their house for dinner!!  :o)

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Twins!!!  Zuri and I bought these matching nightgowns for her and Bri to wear.

Zuri zonked out by 10:30am today!!  LOL

Bowling!!!
I'm adding this because I couldn't stop laughing.  Zuri told me she needed a Band-Aid and she came back with it on like this!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Zuri was excited to see what Mommy and Daddy got her for Valentine's Day!!  We sent Daddy a video saying Happy Valentine's Day and then Zuri got to open her gift!  She got a dry erase board that allows her to trace her letters and a cute little bracelet. They were both purchased at Mass Ave Toy Store. If you've never been, GO!!!

Zuri took in Valentine's cards for her class party. She came home with a ton of goodies!!!

Once I was finally able to get home, we ate dinner and then Zuri decided she wanted a mani/pedi. Daddy was kind enough to do that for her!

Now we are watching YouTube videos (ok, video....she's hooked on this one with all the Disney princesses!).

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!

Fashionista!

Zuri went to Eric's and Karen's while Daddy went to the store and Mommy worked.  She wanted to wear her Elsa dress, but it was in the dirty clothes so she settled for this:

When we went to pick her up, we all decided to go out for lunch.  Zuri picked Logan's.  Trevor asked if she wanted Logan's Steakhouse and she said, "NO, I said Logan's."  HA!

She insisted on sitting by Trevor.  Eric got hosed because of that.  :o)
Zuri was telling Trevor that she was a winner and he was a loser.  Oh my....

On the way home, I was certain Zuri had fallen asleep so I used my phone as a mirror and this is what she did.
Brent said she was mean muggin' me.  Maybe she was.  I thought it was funny though.  :o)

She was pretty much asleep by time we got home and then she slept for about 2 hours!  Too bad she doesn't do that at school.  No, instead she wakes up early and tries to wake her friends up!!!

Private Concert

Zuri surprised me this morning with a private concert. She dressed up and sang Rihanna songs to me. What a great way to start my Friday!!!

Lunch Lady

Zuri's new favorite thing is helping us pack lunch for the next day.

Here are Daddy and Zuri getting Daddy's lunch ready.

Then Zuri decided to "eat" Daddy's sandwich. Hahaha!!

I love the look in the last picture!  LOL

Oh and yes, that's the Elsa dress I mentioned in the last post. She'd wear it 24/7, I'm tellin' ya!

We're Back!!!!!!

Over the past few days, I've received some texts and emails from various people (Papaw John and Aunt Junie, to be exact!) telling me that I am slacking on the blog.  They are correct.  I have been slacking.  So, here's a long post about what's been going on the past few weeks!

The new year brought a new class for Zuri at school.  She moved from the Tiglet (2 1/2 year olds) class to the Tiggers (3 year olds) class.  I wasn't sure how this would go over because Zuri absolutely LOVES Ms. Kensey and Ms. Sam, but she has done well with the change.  She loves Ms. Brooke and Ms. Jenny and still gets to see Ms. Kensey in the mornings.  It's the best of both worlds!  Now, with this move, Zuri has had a first.  Let me start by explaining the system in place at school to show how the children do with regard to their behavior.  The day is broken into 3 chunks of time -- Morning, Midday, and Afternoon.  For each chunk of time, the children receive a green (good), yellow (not good), and red (bad!).  Well, Zuri received her first yellow face in the Tiggers class.  She thinks that if she is awake during the designated nap time, then her friends should also be awake.  She tries to wake them up!  So she received 4 or 5 yellow faces in January.  I know part of it is her age, but I'm hoping most of it is cabin fever - they haven't been outside since the first week of January!  Last Friday, I met Brent and Zuri for dinner and as soon as I sat down, Zuri said, "I got a yellow face."  I said, "Zuri, we talked about this and you are suppose to get all green faces."  Zuri said, "But I got 2 green faces."  She was correct.  She had a green face in the morning and afternoon.  Yellow face was from nap time when she repeatedly tried to wake her friends and then laughed about being in timeout.  She actually had to go sit up front!  Anyway, how do I argue with that?  She was correct --- she had 2 green faces.  UGH!!!  Enough about that.

Since being in the Tigger class, Zuri has learned her days of the week.  She came home one day and just started saying them!

Zuri's favorite movie is Frozen.  We bought her an Elsa dress up gown and she would wear it 24/7 if we let her.  She's actually beginning to be all about dressing up.  She wants to wear dresses and tutus more often now.  Today, she had to put on her necklace and watch!

We've been planning Zuri's 3rd birthday party.  It will be at her dance studio, Stage 1 Dance Academy.  Zuri is super excited.  In fact, about 3 or 4 times a week, she asks when her birthday party is.  She decided on a princess theme.  Miss Katie said the kids would dress up and have makeovers!  I'm sure they will all love it.  I love it because all I have to do is send out invitations!  Miss Katie does everything else --- party favors, cake, drinks, all of it!!!

I think this is a good summary of things that have happened this year.  I'm sure a few people will tell me if I forgot anything!  ;o)

I will leave you with a few pictures.

Zuri and Bri making pizzas at Zoey's in Greenwood.

Zuri sporting her Hello Kitty necklace and watch.

Princess Sofia costume!

This is the dress Bri gave to Zuri and she loves it! (Yes, this is the dress from the first picture too.)

When I told her she couldn't wear her Elsa dress to school, she settled on a tutu.
