Another Visit to Riley....

Zuri was scheduled for surgery today to open up her clogged tear duct.  When the doctor told us we should have that done, we were given 2 choices for the location.  Once again, we chose Riley.  Everything went fine, but I will say that I'm not too happy that her surgery was not until 10:30am.  She was not allowed to eat or drink after midnight --- well, clear liquids were okay until 7:30am.  Obviously the doctor's scheduler does not have a 15 month old at home.  I think I was more worried about having to keep her from eating than the actual surgery.  How do you tell a 15 month old they aren't allowed to eat?  Zuri was great though.  She continues to amaze us.  She was only a tad fussy before we left for the hospital and while waiting to be taken back for surgery.  Oh, and she wasn't taken back until about 11:20.  Apparently the doctor was called away for some mandatory meeting.  We were told it was the government that made it mandatory --- something to do with the residency program.  Anyway, all went well.  Zuri had fallen asleep before surgery and was just beginning to wake up when the nurse came to get her so that part was not bad like I thought it would be.  She was back in my arms within 30 minutes.  By the time we got home, she was totally normal!  Here are some pictures from today.
Papaw, where are we going?

I want one of these at home, okay?

Seriously, I LOVE this!

Hi!

Phineas!!

She sure makes those scrubs look cute!!

Zuri kept wanting to look at what was going on outside the room.

With mommy and daddy before surgery.

Aunt Julie came to visit before surgery.  She brought Zuri a kitten.  Zuri is now obsessed with saying "meow"!

I could hold her like that forever.  This was before surgery.

After surgery - getting the IV out of her foot.  I thought that was an odd place...

Washing her hands.  :)

On the ride home.

Aunt Junie brought her an ice cream cone for being such a brave girl.  Zuri wanted cheese though.

Playing around!

Would you ever think she had surgery just 6 hours before?
