Not-So-Wordless Wednesday

We interrupt this regularly scheduled blog post to bring you important news about Zuri's fun-filled day!!  Wordless Wednesday will resume next week.

Zuri woke up early today for some reason --- probably so she could see daddy before he went to work.  We had plans for a play date with Alex and his mommy, Lindsay, at 9am (or maybe this is why she was up early --- excited for her date!).  About 8am, Zuri started acting tired.  We left early so she could take a quick nap on the way there.

zzzzzzzzzzzz
Zuri and Alex had a great time playing this morning and Lindsay and I had a great time having adult conversation!! Zuri was a bit of a drama queen at times though!  She would be in one swing and when Alex would get in the other one, she would immediately want in that one.  She's in the "mine, mine, mine" stage (Lord help us!).  Here are some pictures from their date.
"We're supposed to slide down, Zuri."

"See, wasn't that fun?!"
These next 2 pictures are so cute!  Both Alex and Zuri were leaning forward in the swings instead of sitting back.  I love Zuri's expression!  HA!

They loved the teeter totter.  It was cute watching them try to get it going.  Lindsay was kind enough to get on the other end and help them out.
Weeeeeeeeeee!!!

Much better!!
We were finally able to talk them into sitting in the shade for a brief moment.  These are a couple of my favs from today!
"What are those kids doing?"

So cute!!

Alex had mastered this by the time we left.  Zuri, not so much --- but close!
After our play date, we went home for a few minutes before meeting up with Tony, Anthony, and Breeanna at Culvers.  Zuri was pretty tired and by the time we left, she was getting pretty fussy!!  Anthony took this picture for me since Zuri wouldn't look at me.

I knew Zuri would pass out on our way home.  Sure enough she did and she slept for an hour and a half (unheard of for her)!!
zzzzzzzzzzzz
After her nap, we watched................................ELMO!!!!!!!  What else would we watch; there's nothing else on TV, right?!  I snapped this cute picture of Zuri laying on the ground watching TV.  :)

Pool Party

Zuri hasn't really been feeling that great since the surgery.  We think she was already coming down with a cold or something before surgery and now it's in full effect.  I thought we were going to miss the pool party today at Patty's.  We decided to give it a try anyway and I'm glad we did!  Zuri absolutely LOVED the slide.  Brent would slide her down towards the end and then she would scoot and push off into my arms in the pool.  She had NO fear!!  I wish I could have taken video of it.

Here are some pictures from the party.

Yes?

Cheese!!

What do you want now?

Someone was tired!

Another Visit to Riley....

Zuri was scheduled for surgery today to open up her clogged tear duct.  When the doctor told us we should have that done, we were given 2 choices for the location.  Once again, we chose Riley.  Everything went fine, but I will say that I'm not too happy that her surgery was not until 10:30am.  She was not allowed to eat or drink after midnight --- well, clear liquids were okay until 7:30am.  Obviously the doctor's scheduler does not have a 15 month old at home.  I think I was more worried about having to keep her from eating than the actual surgery.  How do you tell a 15 month old they aren't allowed to eat?  Zuri was great though.  She continues to amaze us.  She was only a tad fussy before we left for the hospital and while waiting to be taken back for surgery.  Oh, and she wasn't taken back until about 11:20.  Apparently the doctor was called away for some mandatory meeting.  We were told it was the government that made it mandatory --- something to do with the residency program.  Anyway, all went well.  Zuri had fallen asleep before surgery and was just beginning to wake up when the nurse came to get her so that part was not bad like I thought it would be.  She was back in my arms within 30 minutes.  By the time we got home, she was totally normal!  Here are some pictures from today.
Papaw, where are we going?

I want one of these at home, okay?

Seriously, I LOVE this!

Hi!

Phineas!!

She sure makes those scrubs look cute!!

Zuri kept wanting to look at what was going on outside the room.

With mommy and daddy before surgery.

Aunt Julie came to visit before surgery.  She brought Zuri a kitten.  Zuri is now obsessed with saying "meow"!

I could hold her like that forever.  This was before surgery.

After surgery - getting the IV out of her foot.  I thought that was an odd place...

Washing her hands.  :)

On the ride home.

Aunt Junie brought her an ice cream cone for being such a brave girl.  Zuri wanted cheese though.

Playing around!

Would you ever think she had surgery just 6 hours before?

Morning Routine....

In the morning, Zuri likes to take everything out of the drawers and put them on the toilet seat and then put them back in the drawer.  Then back on the seat.  Then back in the drawer.  Then back...........you get the picture!

Potty....

Zuri went pee-pee in the potty 3 times today!!!  She's growing up way too fast.  Sorry, no pics for this post.  :o)

Happy Father's Day!!

We had a nice Father's Day.  We started with hanging out at home with Zuri.  We went to Jockamo for lunch with my dad and step mom where the dads received a nice pint glass!  Then we hit Sam's Club and went back home.  Dinner with Brent's dad and step mom at BJ's Brewhouse where the dads received a nice pint glass.  Brent now has 4 new pint glasses!  :)  Zuri and I are still working on Brent's Father's Day gift so stay tuned to find out.

Z and Daddy reading the paper.
Zuri's new obsession is Elmo.  She LOVES Elmo and believe it or not, she does not have an Elmo doll.  Good thing we have Netflix.
Z watching Elmo.

I'll help daddy out since he had to get up.

Z waving bye-bye to mommy after eating at Jockamo.

Z and Grandpa Cox

I just LOVE this picture!  Zuri did not want to come to me.  :)

Grandma Schulz, Zuri, and Daddy after dinner.

Brent, I hope you had a nice Father's Day.  Zuri and I love you very much!!!

Pool Day!!!

We went to Randy's and Tammy's yesterday for a cookout/pool party for Father's Day.  Zuri loved the water!!

Before we left though, Zuri wanted to walk around in her nightgown and sunglasses (or goggles as she calls them).

Mommy, I'm too cool for pictures.
Before we got into the pool, Zuri was checking out Harley.

I'm not afraid of you!
 Ready to get in!

And we're in!

Zuri and daddy decided to hang outside for a minute.
