Fever broke

Zuri's temperature was 100.5 this morning so she had to stay home.  Brent stayed with her because I had a client meeting.  We gave her Tylenol and her temp went down to 99.5.  By 3:30ish, it was 98.3!  Doctor's office said to just watch her temp.  Since Tylenol is helping, there is no need to see her.

This video is sort of long, but you can see in the first few seconds just how happy Zuri is even when she has a fever (well at this point, the fever was pretty much gone).

Fever

We hung out at home this morning.  Zuri took a nap on daddy for a little bit and then it was play time.

We went to lunch, Gymboree (our favorite store), and Kroger.  When we got back, Zuri took a couple more small (20min or less) naps.  My aunt, uncle, and cousin came over for dinner and she took more naps.  All the while, she was her usual smiley self (except for a couple of times she would fuss a little).  Here are some pics from dinner.

That's my happy-go-lucky little girl!

She went to bed about an hour after these pictures were taken (without taking her bottle - she didn't want it).  About 9:15, she woke up.  This is not like her so we went in there and poor thing was burning up.  We took her temperature and it was 102.4.  I read through the booklet our pediatrician gave us and it seems we are okay right now.  We gave her Tylenol and she went back to bed after about 15 minutes.  We will see how the night progresses.  I thought she had allergies because she's been sneezing and her eye is a little watery.  I guess it's a cold or it could still be allergies but she has a fever from teething.  I have no idea.

I'll keep you posted.

Hello Blue Eyes!

My dad took this picture last night while he and Andrea were watching Zuri so Brent and I could go out.

Today was my mom's side's family reunion.  We went to Martinsville Park for it.  Zuri was a hit, of course.  :)

The funniest part of the reunion was the fact that two people asked my uncle if Brent was his son.  LOL  Here's a picture of Uncle/Stepdad Eric with Brent.  :)

So I don't know if you can tell very well from the pictures, but everyone in the pictures I posted has blue eyes!

The 3 Amigos

The Hensons came over for dinner tonight.  Lila wanted to read some Dr. Seuss books.  I sat Zuri and Alana next to her so she could read to them.

Zuri wanted to help....

I had to end up moving Zuri away...LOL

Look at poor Alana all squished.
While us girls were hanging out in the living room, the boys were in the kitchen....

CPS visit?!

Brent said CPS was going to come visit us because of this scratch!  I ended up clipping her nails after we found this.

I swear we don't mistreat her.  Just look at these.  :)

Here are the monkey pajamas I mentioned yesterday.

Zuri wanted to wear her new "My heart belongs to Daddy" onesie I bought over the weekend.

Claudia sent me this picture this morning saying Zuri was really tired.  Apparently after this picture was taken, she was no longer tired!  She didn't take an afternoon nap!!

She did take one when we got home.  Because of that, she stayed up until about 8:30 which is waaayyyy past her bedtime.  We had company over for dinner and Halle took advantage of Zuri being a "party pooper" and played in her high chair! :o)

Monkey Z, Monkey Sue

So Zuri has this new thing - sticking her tongue out!  It just started this past Thursday.  It's so cute!!  I know it won't be later, but it is for now.  :)

Today was the Gwen Mitchell Bowl-a-Thon at Southern Bowl.  Zuri had a blast.  She got to hang out with Rich and Jodie.  She even took a little nap on mommy.  Brent and I were pretty lucky.  There were 7 tickets left for the 50/50 raffle so Brent bought them ---- he won!  Then I took $20 from that and bought raffle tickets.  I won a washers game set, a $15 Visa gift card, and a Bud Light Colts Team of the Decade mirror!  I won't bother telling you what my score was.  Let's just say I thought I was playing golf where the lower the score, the better!!

Here are some pictures from the bowling alley.

When we got home, Nikki came to visit as well as Uncle Eric, Aunt Karen, and Cousin Trevor.  Karen asked if Zuri was sitting up on her own and I told her she wasn't.  Well Zuri made a liar of me.  Karen sat her in front of Trevor and she sat up by herself for quite a long time.  She's not doing it all the time, but it was cool to see her do it for the first time!  Of course I took a picture.

Zuri has a Sophie the Giraffe and she loves to bite her head off!

You're probably wondering about the title of this post.  When I was younger, my Uncle Butch nicknamed me Monkey Sue (my middle name is Sue).  He still calls me that to this day!  He decided Zuri would be Little Monkey Sue (I think that's what he said).  Well, my Aunt Lisa came up with Monkey Z, Monkey Sue (you know - monkey see, monkey do).  I thought it was cute.  :)  Today, Z had a monkey on her butt and she has on monkey pajamas tonight.

Papa Roux

Before I talk about our visit to Papa Roux, here are a couple of pictures to show who controls the TV at our house.

If you don't know what Papa Roux is, check it out (www.paparouxindy.com).  Anyway, they had a special for lunch today so we loaded up and headed to the east side!  When you dine in, the sides are free and unlimited.  If you like spicy food, get the creole!  It was great, but get the cornbread to go with it.  :o)

We had a bit of a struggle while there.  The restaurant is small so when Zuri needed a diaper change, I figured I'd just do it on the booth seat because we were in the corner.  Well when I started to change her, I realized it was a #2 diaper so I decided to go to the restroom.  Bad idea.  It was no bigger than a handicap stall and had no changing station.  I had to lay our changing pad on the floor and change her on the floor.  Thankfully she wasn't rolling around or anything.  It took awhile (I think Brent was about to come search for us), but we got it changed.  Note to self, just change her on the booth seat next time.

Here are a couple of pictures from Papa Roux.

On the way home, Zuri looked like she might fall asleep.  Her eyes were heavy.  She just kept staring at me.

And staring....

And smiling!!

Until....

After lunch, we spent the rest of the day at home.  Aunt Julie came by to visit and while Brent put Z to bed, she and I went shopping.  I bought the cutest thing ever for Halloween (not a costume) --- stay tuned!!

T.G.I.F.

Zuri did not want to get up this morning but, as usual, she was happy as can be when we woke her up.  :)

Daddy got tickets to the Colts game tonight so we went with my cousin Kyle and his friend Kyle.  Cousin Kyle hasn't held Zuri since the hospital so I had to get a new picture.

Okay, that's enough; here you go.

Seriously, you can have her back now!

We had great seats thanks to Brent's boss.  We were club level which meant private bar, food, bathrooms, padded seats, and more leg room.  :)

While we were enjoying a night out, Zuri was hanging out with Grandpa John and Grandma Andrea.  Grandpa sent me this picture during the game (which I'm sure I received later than I should have because of my 3GS iPhone ---- I need the iPhone 4!!)

Isn't she the most precious thing ever?!  She's in bed and I'm heading that way too.  Goodnight!
