Belly Picture

Tonight, Zuri came into the kitchen and said she had a baby in her belly and she hopes it's a girl (she's been obsessed with that and diabetes since I'm pregnant and have gestational diabetes). I had to get a "belly pic" with her. :o)

Conversations With Zuri

Conversation tonight with Zuri while we are all taking turns on the elliptical:

Me: Where do you want to have your birthday party?  At dance like last year?

Zuri: No, let me think.
        (5 seconds later)
I know you don't want to hear this
and I know you will probably say no,
but I want my birthday in Disney
        World!

Me: Um, yeah, we can't do that. It's too
far and no one will be able to come
to the party (never mind the fact that
I will have just given birth to her baby
       brother a week prior).

Zuri: (in her whiny voice). Okay.

We settled on the Plainfield Aquatic Center so she can swim in March. :o)

Lemonade Stand

This morning, we went out for breakfast. Isn't my date cute?  ;o)
After breakfast, we went grocery shopping.  While at Kroger, Zuri made a couple faces for me.  Angel Zuri vs. devil Zuri?!

When we got home, Zuri wanted to have a lemonade stand. She used her baby doll crib for her stand. Daddy made a bottle of lemonade for her and she grabbed the cups.
The tissues are there because Zuri and I both have colds. :o( The stand was short lived because she spilled some lemonade in the crib. I was not happy. Thankfully, it wasn't much and I was able to wash the pink bedding. :o)

Merry Christmas!!

Heads up --- this will be a long post!

Zuri has had an awesome Christmas!  Wednesday night, we celebrated with Andy, Anne, Bri, and Zayne.  We had a great time!
Yesterday, Christmas Eve, we stayed home most of the day.  Grandma Newbold stopped by. Zuri loved all her gifts from her!  She has played Candy Land probably 20 times since yesterday!
We went to Ralph's and Lane's for dinner. Before leaving, we sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn so Santa's reindeer could eat and also find our house in the dark (the food sparkles, don't ya know?!).
Zuri made out like a bandit with all the Shopkins she received!
Pictures with the kids!
When we got home, we said goodbye to Author (see previous post). After we went to bed, Santa came and left gifts and stuffed our stockings!

So...now the big day!

If you read the last post, then you know our elf, Author, left Zuri a gift to open Christmas morning before coming into our room. She was so excited about Christmas that she forgot!  I reminded her about the gift and she immediately ran back in her room to open it!  Author left her a necklace making kit!
After she showed us what Author left, we checked our stockings. Zuri loved everything Santa put in there, especially the Rudolph finger puppets!
Next, time to see what Santa left!!  He was very good to Zuri. He brought her an American Girl Doll baby with a carrier and clothes, an outfit, a Monster High Doll, books, and a Dreamy Palace Pet. :) Mommy and Daddy bought Zuri some clothes, kinetic sand, flash cards, a Descendants Evie doll, and more!
The last picture in the collage above was Zuri's gift to Mommy and Daddy. We love it!

Zuri's big gift from Mommy and Daddy was a Kids' Smartwatch. Here's a video of her opening it and then a picture of her wearing it.

Aunt Julie came by with gifts. Lots of them!

Aunt Junie also came over.

Santa told Aunt Junie about the American Girl Doll baby so Junie bought Zuri a crib for the baby. Check out the video and then picture below. :)

Of course, we had to get a picture with both Aunt Js!

Papaw John also stopped by!
After opening those gifts, Papaw had a couple more. A gift card to Wendy's and one to Starbucks!  Zuri was a little excited. :o)
Papaw also bought Zuri a Sundae maker. Zuri said even though it's not Sunday, she wanted to make one. Ha!  She loved making these and eating them.
We relaxed for a few hours and played with some toys.

Then, time to head to Grandma Jan's.

One of Zuri's many new outfits (courtesy of Aunt Julie).
A family Christmas selfie. :o)
When we got to Grandma Jan's, we noticed Papaw John rode his motorcycle. Zuri posed for a picture only - no riding.
Zuri loves makeup and money and dolls - she got it all!
Justice isn't feeling the selfie. Ha!!
Of course, I get Justice to smile and Zuri looks mad.
They were relaxing. ;o)
Mommy didn't plan ahead for dinner so we stopped at one of the only places open, Steak 'n Shake.
When we got home, we played a little bit more and now Zuri is in bed.

We have just one more gathering next weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Schulz. Zuri's going to love getting more gifts. :o)

We had a very Merry Christmas and we hope you all did too!!

Author's Last Day

Today is Author's last day with us. Tonight, he goes back to the North Pole and will stay with Santa until next holiday season. Author is in the kitchen and left Zuri a sweet goodbye note. He also left her some sELFies on her phone and a gift under the tree in her room. :o)

Close up of the note:

See you next holiday season, Author!

Pajama Day

Today was pajama day at school. They had a Christmas party, pizza for lunch, and watched Polar Express. I forgot about it being pajama day so Zuri was in this cute outfit.
When we got to school, I quickly realized I forgot pajama day. Zuri asked me to go home and get her pajamas. I couldn't say no. She was so upset that all her friends were in pajamas and she wasn't. :o(
Day was saved!!

We went to dinner tonight with Grandma and Grandpa Schulz. Zuri wore her pajamas.

We stopped at Starbucks afterwards - still in pajamas. Hot chocolate, cake pop, and pajamas --- perfect combination!

Just because.....a selfie this morning.
