Zuri loves it when Brent takes a blanket or t-shirt and swipes it over her head. It's their version of peek-a-boo right now. :o)
This blog will be about our daughter, Zuri, and all of her achievements and milestones. This will also allow me to keep friends and family updated with pictures and other news about Zuri even if it's not an achievement or milestone!

35mm film.....
Tonight, Zuri and I met up with a friend from high school and her 3 year old son (Krista and Drew). Aunt J (who is now Grandma J b/c he waitress thought she was my mom) showed up to see Zuri and hang out for a minute. I think Krista and I must have worn the kids out with our catching up because almost at the same time, this happened:
Aren't they both just adorable?! Brent showed up after basketball (we were there to support the Tyler Leitzman Memorial Scholarship Fund) and took Z home so I could visit a little longer (okay, really because she was getting tired, but whatever!). Krista and I both won a $5 off coupon for thirty one. YAY!
Before dinner, Zuri was in her exersaucer playing with her favorite item on it. By playing, I mean eating.
Are you wondering yet how I came up with today's title? Well on the way to dinner, I couldn't resist taking this picture (I was stopped at a stop light, don't freak out!). You see where it says "We process 35mm film"? I posted this on Facebook and said something about it not being 1991 anymore. :)
Here are a couple of pics from last night of daddy and Z playing on the floor. You can see Clayton hard at work on his homework and Sandy just sitting there watching. :)

The past 5 1/2 months in pictures
I know I gave a Cliffs Notes version yesterday, but I wanted to share some more of my favorite pictures (and a video) from the past 5 1/2 months!
Z with her informational card at the hospital.
This was taken the day Alana came home. Both girls were hungry so Alana is crying and Zuri is trying to eat her! LOL
This was one of the pictures Cassie took when she did Z's newborn pictures. :)
This is Zuri with her cousin Claire. Claire was born 9 days after Zuri.
This is one of my favs for sure! My dad was holding her and he yelled for me to look what she was doing.
Z's first day at the pool with Nikki and Halle.
Rachael and I thought that it would be a good idea to have the girls' pictures done. They cooperated for a minute. LOL
This is Zuri with my sister's stepson, Jonathan.
Brent's stepmom, Dixie, was talking to Zuri and she was making some hilarious faces!
Could be my all time fav....
My cousin Derek. He's not big on holding babies. I kind of threw her at him. HA!
She's such a happy baby.
She's ready for some BBQ!
Mommy, do I have to read all of these before I eat?!
How sweet is this?!
Okay, last picture for today. I took this picture this morning. It's the best picture I have of her teeth. I still can't believe she has them.
My aunt Tina really wants video so here's a video from this weekend. Brent's dad and stepmom came over Saturday and we went to lunch, played cards, and went to dinner. This was in the car after dinner. Dixie said "no-no" just playing around and Zuri thought it was hilarious!! We may be in trouble. HA!!

Welcome!!
Okay, so Zuri is 23 weeks today and I am just now starting this blog. Better late than never, right? A friend of mine has a blog about her daughter and I absolutely LOVE it! Ashley, if you follow my blog, don't be surprised if I don't follow some of your formats. :)
Here's the Cliffs Notes version of the past 5 and a half months.
First of all, Brent and I did not know the sex of our baby (which drove many of our friends and family crazy). We wanted to be surprised. Here's a picture from our maternity shoot (1/15/11) with my friend Ryan.
Brent was tasked with taking my profile picture weekly beginning week 19. Here are the first and last ones taken (see a difference?!).
Zuri was born on Monday, 3/7/11 at 8:48am. She weighed 9.2 pounds and was 21.25 inches long. Here's her very first picture.
We had a TON of visitors at the hospital and for the first few weeks after she was born. I was able to stay home with Zuri for 9 weeks (8 weeks for the c-section and 1 week for kidney stone surgery). We had a blast after adjusting the first couple of weeks. Rachael had her daughter, Alana, 4 weeks after Zuri was born. The 4 of us hung out quite a bit. :) Zuri also has a couple of cousins who were born around the time she was. Eli was born on February 4th and Claire on March 16th.
Zuri started sleeping through the night around 3 months. She was sleeping from about 9pm-6am. Then at about 4 months, she decided to go to bed about 8pm and sleep until 6am. Today, she goes to bed anywhere between 6pm and 8pm and sleeps 10-11 hours (usually until 5:30am or 6am).
On August 1st (at 21 weeks), I noticed Zuri's two bottom front teeth. I tried and tried to get a picture, but that is not an easy thing to do! I managed to obtain this picture last week though (kinda blurry, but you can see them).
Zuri is such a good baby. We couldn't have asked for more. She is happy and smiles all the time. She is great with other people (for the most part). She did just start this thing about strangers or those she doesn't see that often - she cries when they look at her and try to talk to her. The daycare we chose (Indy Learning Center: www.indylearningcenter.com) is great. Claudia and Elena are wonderful! Zuri loves them and they love her. The other kids there love her too. Going back to work was the hardest thing to do, but they have made it easy for me.
There is so much more I could write about, but I think I'll stop for now! I'll end with the monthly pictures I take (sorry they are sideways - for some reason when I try to rotate them on my computer, the computer deletes them?!).
Stay tuned!!
