Class of 2029

I came home Friday to a picture Zuri's teacher took.  Brent and I have been discussing school since Kindergarten is going to be here before you know it but I was NOT ready to see this!!!  She was excited to talk about her graduation from preschool. :)

Haircut

We made a last minute decision today to cut Zuri's hair.  She doesn't like having anything done to it and it's hard for Brent to wash so with summer coming, we cut it.  I think she looks adorable!!

Introducing....

Zuri came into the living room this morning and said, "Introducing....The Stroller Boller!" (pronounced "bowler")

Maybe she sees too many As Seen On TV ads via Nickelodeon???

We need a patent for this invention ASAP!!

Miss Adventurous

Zuri is fearless which can be good and bad. This weekend, she tried feeding horses and rode along in a go cart, both of which are good. :o)

Horses.....

My friend and colleague, Lory, has a couple horses so we stopped by Saturday morning to see them. Their names are Doc and Buddy.  They were being ornery and wouldn't come over for Zuri to feed them carrots. That didn't stop Zuri!  She climbed through the fence and stood by Lory and the two of them followed the horses all over. Zuri never got to feed them, but she had fun nonetheless!  Next time, she plans on riding Buddy. :o)

Go carts.....

Tonight, Zuri wanted to take a ride in Papaw's new go cart. She absolutely loved it!  Papaw enjoyed it too. :o)

I'm glad Zuri loves trying new things!

Mother's Day

I had a fantastic Mother's Day weekend!  Our nieces, Lili and Sunny, spent the night Friday. Saturday, we all went Jack's softball game.
After the game, we took the girls to lunch at The Knuckle Sandwich near Mooresville (144 and 37). They enjoyed the memorabilia. Zuri really wanted to take the I Love Lucy dolls home!!
We went to Target after that so we could get the girls matching dresses for pictures. Super cute!!
This morning, Zuri handed me the card and gift they got me. I just love seeing her writing!!
She decided I needed help opening the card and gift. ;o) (yes, that's the dress from yesterday ..... she slept in it!)
Zuri made this at school. It's beautiful!  I love her teachers!
We hung out in the morning and watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
After a trip to Menards, we relaxed some more!
We eventually went to Meijer for groceries. We came across The Hulk while shopping.  I love his dress. ;o)
After dinner, we met Eric, Karen, and Trevor for ice cream.

We ended our night by making cake with a new recipe I found. We will make the icing tomorrow and have cake for dessert!!

We hope all the mothers out there had an awesome day today!!

Physical Therapy

Wordless Wednesday will resume next week. :o)

Zuri had a physical therapy evaluation today for tip-toe walking. She's been doing that since she could walk. At her 4yr checkup, the doctor said we needed to do something about it because she could end up with weak ankles and shortened calf muscles.  The physical therapist suggested orthotics along with extensive stretches/exercises (at home and at their facility).  We hope that she will not need casts or braces.

Here are some pictures from her visit.

The swing had to be taken down because it was too distracting. :o)
Doing some stretches.
She did get some play time in.
They even have a therapy dog. His name is Mac and Zuri loved him!
For doing such a good job, we took Zuri to her favorite place. She loves Kabutos!

70

Grandma Schulz turned 70 yesterday. To celebrate, we went to Peoria, Illinois to surprise her. We arrived Friday night and spent the night with Shawn and Mandy.  It was a full house - 6 adults and 5 kids (all under age 5)!  The kids had a blast playing with each other.

On our way!
Meeting baby Aryana for the first time.

We had our pictures taken in the morning and then went to the party to surprise Grandma Schulz. That night, everyone went to Shawn's and Mandy's for a bonfire. We had fun!
The cake was delish!
Bray and Z being silly!
Zuri and Grandma. :o)
The kids dancing (um, well perhaps just sitting at this point).
We played with the How Old site (www.how-old.net) and Shawn thought flexing would make him look younger.
S'mores!
Grandma with Isabelle and Zuri.
Bray and Z.
Maddie, Bray, and Z!

It was time to go home today. Before leaving, we had brunch with everyone.

When we got home, Zuri hung out with Eric and Karen while we grocery shopped. Afterwards, we had dinner. Zuri was being Eric's girl for sure. She even got mad at me when I suggested we poke his finger to pop his blood blister. :o)

We had a great weekend and hope Grandma had a great birthday!
