Outta My Swing Set, Papaw!!!

Terrible Twos or Threes?

So.............the person who dubbed the twos as terrible, obviously wasn't a woman with an independent stubborn THREE year old daughter.  I would argue that there is no such thing as terrible twos.  Rather, there are terrible threes!

Sunday started out okay.  We went to breakfast, grocery store, and then back home until Grandpa & Grandma Schulz came by for lunch.  We went to lunch and then came back home and let Zuri open her Easter Basket from Grandpa & Grandma.  Opening that basket was totally dependent on how she did at lunch.  She did okay, so we let her open it.  Zuri was overall okay until we had dinner with Andy, Anne, & Bri.  She is in the "everything is mine" stage.  Bri got on the middle swing --- Zuri wanted it.  Bri was reading a book --- Zuri wanted it.  Zuri would tell Bri it was all hers and she couldn't have it, etc.  Bri would get upset.  I would put Zuri in timeout and she would get upset.  This went on THE.ENTIRE.TIME they were there.  After they left, I locked myself in the bedroom and laid down.  I couldn't handle her attitude anymore.  Brent was great.  He cleaned up and kept Zuri occupied.  Zuri went to bed okay (no fight) and I told her that if she stayed dry overnight, she could have the stroller back that I took away.  Brent got her up in the morning to go to the bathroom and then I woke her up for the day an hour later.  She was dry which made me one happy mommy!!!  Zuri and I are going to make a sticker chart after work/school tonight so that at the end of the week, if she has filled up the chart, she can get the baby doll play set she saw at Meijer.

Despite the last half of Sunday being stressful, this morning was good.  Zuri was very sweet, caring, and kind.  I also realized that Brent WILL be fine handling all the extra responsibilities that will go along with my return to school in the summer.

Walking, Wonderful Lunch, Wedding!

We started our Saturday morning with the Matt Breman Memorial Walk 4Kids benefiting The Villages (http://www.villages.org/).  Brent had to work so it was just me and Zuri.  My knee has been bothering me (possible partial tendon tear) so we didn't walk the entire route.  Nonetheless, we walked and we had fun.  Zuri really enjoyed the music and bubbles before the walk as well as all the ducks in the canal!!!  :o)

After the walk, we went to Circle Centre Mall and shopped at Carson's before meeting Rachelle for lunch at Champps.  By the time we were leaving, Zuri was ready to go home with Rachelle.  Seriously.

After lunch, we took a nap and then woke up just in time for a last minute decision to go to my cousin's wedding.  I'm glad we went.  Zuri was mesmerized by one of the bridesmaids.  She thought she was a princess.  Princess Soo.  She loved her!!!  Soo was a trooper and let Zuri hang on her all night and dance with her.

You Make Me Sad, Papaw

At dinner tonight, Zuri kept telling Papaw he was making her sad because he spilled his drink and peed his pants (neither of which he did!).  She was cracking me up----saying, "seriously?" and just being as dramatic as she was!  Check out the video!

Happy Easter!!!

The Easter Bunny left Zuri a lot of goodies and hid a lot of eggs for her in our yard!  Zuri's M.O. on any holiday is to get up earlier than normal.  Today was no different.  She was up at 6:30am (while the Easter Bunny was hiding eggs!!).  After grabbing the basket out back and looking through, we had breakfast and waited for Papaw to show up so we could go outside and find all the eggs (we also wanted to wait for it to warm up some!).  Once Papaw arrived, we headed outside.  Zuri found all the eggs and was eager to eat all the goodies inside.  :o)

After Papaw left, we decided to go to the Zoo to see the butterflies since we didn't get to see them yesterday.  A pretty blue butterfly decided to land on my head and I was able to capture a picture.  Zuri was freaked out by it which is surprising because she had no issue going up to the glass at the tiger exhibit and staring down a tiger.  She's a little strange.  ;o)

After the zoo, we went home and hung out until it was time to head to Ralph's & Lane's for the Gonzalez Family Easter Dinner.  I went a tad picture crazy because Laura wasn't able to be here and wanted pictures!  If you are friends with me on Instagram and Facebook, you've seen most of these.

This happened on the way home....

We had a great Easter and hope everyone else did too!!

Zoo Membership

This week, we received an invitation in the mail to join the Indy Zoo.  The invite included a code for $15 off a Family Plus membership.  We decided (okay, it was mostly my decision) to join and take full advantage this weekend!!  Saturday, we went with Aunt Julie and LB.  We arrived just after they opened at 9am and enjoyed seeing the animals without much of a crowd!  Zuri and LB loved it!!  They both raced cheetahs (and lost), saw giraffes, rode the train, took a 4D experience in the short movie Rio, saw Tigers, and much much more!!!

Monday Maniac

No one else is this perky and happy first thing on a Monday morning with crappy weather (compared to the weekend)!

Weekend Fly By

This weekend just flew by us!  I guess that's what happens when you're having fun, right?! :o)

Friday night, we met Shawn, Mandy, and Izzy for dinner. Izzy is adorable!  Here is Zuri with her cousin.

Saturday was the Greenwood Parks Dept. Easter Egg Hunt. I took Zuri and Bri. They met the Easter Bunny and got some goodies!

Grandma Newbold was there with Jonathan and brought Zuri her Easter basket. More goodies!!

We then had lunch at Kabutos with Julie and Kenny.

Bri ended up spending the night so we had fun eating and playing outside while also hanging out with Jenn and Brendan (Brandon, if you ask Zuri).

Pics from the Easter Egg Hunt:

Pics during dinner/play time:

The wings, tutu, and headband were in Zuri's Easter basket from Grandma Newbold. She loves wearing it all!!  Thanks, Grandma!

Jenn and Brendan helped us plan some for Disney!  We can't wait!!!  Zuri will be having a princess makeover at the Bippity Boppity Boutique thanks to them!  Zuri can't wait!!!

Today, we had breakfast with Andy and Anne. Here are the girls with Brent and Andy. Cute!

We were going to go on a picnic with Anne and Bri, but Zuri was not being very well behaved after breakfast so we didn't go. Instead, Zuri went to Eric's and Karen's while Mommy went to Target and Daddy did yard work.

She was better after that. :o)

Here are some pics from today:

The bottom right picture was at Eric's and Karen's. We went back after dinner and had ice cream and hung out. Eric was being mean to Zuri so we called in reinforcement.

Don't mess with Papaw's girl!!  :o)
