Queen Elsa!

While shopping for a birthday gift for Lila, we found an Elsa dress. Zuri asked if she could have it to wear to bed. Why not?!

Skittles!!!

We made an impromptu visit to Uncle Gary's to see him and Skittles. Zuri has come around since her first visit. She was very talkative and gave out hugs willingly!

TGIF!!

Zuri had a couple surprise visitors tonight.  Uncle Eric and Aunt Karen stopped by to see Zuri for a little bit before they went to dinner.  Zuri had fun running around like a crazy lady.  I took out my new camera to take pictures and then Zuri showcased her photography skills.  Here are just a few pictures.

Zuri's First Sleepover!

Saturday night, Zuri went on her first sleepover at Aunt Junie's.  I am not sure who was more excited: Zuri or Aunt Junie!  Zuri had a lot of fun and Mommy and Daddy got to go out and watch the football games and then we were able to sleep in!  Zuri stayed dry at Aunt Junie's overnight and since that was day 5 of staying dry, we took Zuri to Toys R Us to pick out a gift.  Papaw John met us there.

When Aunt Junie brought Zuri home, we played outside on our melting snow slide!!  Here are a couple pictures from that.

Wordless Wednesday

2 months

In 2 very short months, our baby will turn 3. How is that possible?  

Tonight, before bed, Zuri wanted to call and talk to Papaw and Aunt Junie. I'm sure she would've called everyone else we know if I hadn't stopped her and made her go to bed!  As I sat listening to her, I realized she is well beyond 3 when it comes to her intelligence. Maybe I feel that way because I'm her mom. Who knows. What I do know is that I don't know very many almost 3 year olds who can have an entire conversation with people. Zuri was talking in complete and clear sentences. When Junie asked her what she said one time, Zuri repeated it but slower and with more enunciation!  Oh and she added, "I said...Junie." I'm sure that was her polite way of saying, "Did I stutter?!"  :)

Whether or not Zuri is intelligent, one thing's for sure: we've got our hands full with her in the years to come!!!

Mommy's Birthday / Snow Day!!!

Today is my birthday and Brent and Zuri got me the most wonderful gift ever: a Nikon D3000!!!  YAY!  I put it to good use today with the beautiful weather we had.  Zuri loved playing out in the snow.  Brent even built her a snow slide!  I tried it out and loved it too!  :o)

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

We hope everyone had a wonderful 2013!  For Zuri, 2013 started rough with a constant ear infection followed by surgery for tubes on 1/16.  After that, 2013 was full of new and exciting things for her!  She started a new school, dance class, swim lessons, had her first road trip, potty training, a trip to Great Wolf Lodge, and her first Christmas where she "got it"!

We decided to be low key and ring in the New Year at my cousin's house with his girlfriend and her daughter.  Zuri loves Anne and Bri!

We had a concert, pizza, cake pops, makeovers, and a movie. Zuri lasted until around 10:45 when we left Andy's and Anne's. She passed out before we left their neighborhood!  Mommy and Daddy barely said Happy New Year after the ball dropped!  

Zuri was up and ready to go at 7:30 this morning. She slept in The dress Bri gave her and doesn't seem to have a plan to take it off anytime soon. Ha!
