Baseball Game

Zuri was excited to go to the Indians game Friday night.  She doesn't know what baseball is really, but she was super excited to go!  We met up with the Johnson family for dinner and then to the game.  We got to the game late so we were in the lawn by West Street and couldn't really see the game at all.  The kids didn't care and Nichole and I didn't care.  I think Brent and Chris were bummed.  Oh well.  ;o)  Brent thought we would only be there an hour or so since Zuri goes to bed between 7 and 8, but we were there until the end.  I wanted Zuri to see the fireworks.  She loved them!  Here are some pictures from Friday night.

Zuri wouldn't let go of my face!!

Fireworks!!!

Today, Zuri saw a video of Alana doing somersaults so she decided she wanted to try.  She said she wanted to "tuck n roll".  I don't know where she hear that - school maybe?  Anyway, here's a video of her doing her tuck n roll.  :o)

Papaw's Little Helper

Zuri's bicycle came in last week so Papaw came over to assemble it.  Zuri wanted to help.  Here are some pictures from Bicycle Assembly 101.

Zuri did a great job of assembling her bicycle!!!  Papaw was a great helper too.  ;o)

On another note, Zuri is such a goofball!  She had my phone and took some selfies.  Here's one of them.  HA!!!!

Oh, and Zuri just LOVES to dance.  She hears music and she dances.  Tonight, we had the TV on Disney Channel and Austin and Ally came on.  When the theme song started, Zuri started dancing.  Sooooo cute!  Here's a video.

I've been looking at dance classes for her, but they are all during the day (I'm a working mom) or they are at 6:30 (Zuri's an early to bed kind of gal).  I think we are going to have to just bite the bullet and keep her up late one night a week (or 2) for dance class!

Swimming and Bicycling

Zuri had a busy weekend.  We went to Uncle Randy's and Aunt Tammy's for a pool party Saturday.  Zuri loved playing in the pool.  In fact, she didn't want to leave!  We also went to dinner with Uncle Jon, Aunt Amanda, Jack, and Claire after Jack and Claire stopped by to play.

Today, we went to Toys R Us with Papaw John to pick out a bicycle because Papaw John felt Zuri needed one.  We were in that store for over and hour and a half!  We were able to get Zuri to the bicycle section for all of about 15 minutes.  The rest of the time was spent walking around looking at toys.  She had her eye on this out-of-the-box plastic swing/slide set.  She wouldn't leave that darn thing!!  We left the store with a new bicycle (will be delivered next week), a Doc McStuffins backpack, a Doc McStuffins lunch box, a Sophia the First t-shirt, Minnie Mouse arm floaties, and marbles (don't ask).  We hardly ever go to Toys R Us and now you know why!

Get ready for picture overload!!

This was today in the Toys R Us parking lot.

Excited for her new backpack, lunch box, and arm floaties!

Do you like my helmet, Papaw?

A new bike!!!

Mommy, I want you to spend an exorbitant amount of money for me to ride this cool car.

Dinner with the Hensons!

We had dinner tonight with the Henson family (Shane, Rachael, Lila, and Alana).  The girls got to play on the swing set.  This was Alana's first time on a big girl swing (I think).  She loved it one second, hated it the second!!!

The girls had so much fun that Lila and Alana didn't want to leave.  I think Shane and Rachael were ready to leave them here.  Three girls under our roof............pretty sure Brent would have a heart attack!!!  ;o)

Pool Crashers

Our wonderful neighbors, Carol and Ryan, have a pool and tell us all the time to come over whenever we want.  Well, today, we finally took them up on the offer.  They were both inside resting, but told us to come on over.  We did just that!  We were only there about an hour, but we had a blast!!

Zuri wasn't sure about the Sea Lion at first, but she decided she wanted to give it a try.
Daddy decided to show Zuri how to ride the Sea Lion.  The Sea Lion won the battle!!
I tried to get a family picture, but Zuri was very upset with the Sea Lion and had to make sure Daddy was okay.  I was able to get a usable one though.
Zuri's favorite part was jumping into the pool.  Here's a video of her jumping to Daddy.  I love that she starts her countdown in English and ends in Spanish.  So smart!!!

Zuri's First Road Trip

We took Zuri on her first road trip (and first time overnight stay) for the 4th of July!  We left Wednesday night for Peoria, Illinois to visit Shawn and Mandy.  We were hoping Zuri would fall asleep on the way there since we left around 5ish and it's almost a 4 hour drive.  Zuri did not fall asleep.  She stayed awake for the entire trip.  She did remarkably well.  We got to Shawn's and Mandy's around 10pm.  Zuri and I laid down and she finally went to sleep around 11pm.  I was impressed.  I thought it would be harder to get her to go to bed somewhere other than our house.  Zuri immediately became fascinated with the puppies.  Shawn and Mandy have a pug, Hope, and they were watching Mandy's parents' dog, Princess.  On the 4th, we went out for breakfast, hung out at the house, out for dinner, and then walked around the river to check out the festivities --- until Zuri got too crabby for my liking.  ;o)  Today, we hung out at the house and then went to lunch and came home.  Zuri fell asleep before we hit the interstate.  I thought that was a good sign.  Then, she woke up close to Champaign, Illinois and started crying and whining and wanting out!  We stopped and went inside a drug store (Doc's Drugs)!  We thought she needed Tylenol because she's had a cold and we thought she had a fever.  We got inside and they had some toys.  Zuri perked up within about 5 minutes.  We stayed there for about probably 30-40 minutes and then were able to get back on the road.  Zuri was fine from that point on.  We had dinner one the way there and back at the same place: Cracker Barrel in Crawfordsville.  Zuri was not very good at dinner tonight.  She wanted to go play with the babies she remembered from Wednesday night.  She also has a new obsession with bathrooms because we are working on potty training.  Anyplace we go, she has to go to the bathroom.  Side note: she went #2 on the potty right after waking up this morning!

Zuri's first road trip/overnight stay was a huge success!  She had fun and is ready to go back to see Shawn and Mandy and the puppies (Princess, especially).

Here are pictures from the trip.

On our way!

Being silly!!
Finally asleep.

Across the street from where we had breakfast --- for you, Papaw John.
Shawn and Mandy are expecting their first baby in November.  Zuri was reminiscing about her younger days.

This is Princess.  Zuri loved her.  The feeling was not mutual.  Princess did, however, love Brent.

Dinner time!
Checking out the "ocean" with Mandy.

I love this picture!
$5 well spent!
Zuri wanted no part of a family picture (see below).

She's too busy to be in our picture.
