Family Pictures

After dinner, we were in the bedroom watching Sofia the First.  I decided to take a family picture.  Zuri was not thrilled at first.  We decided to make a game of it and here's the outcome!

Final Swim Lesson

During the past 2 weeks of swim lessons, Daddy has been in the pool with Zuri.  Today was the final lesson and was a play day.  Mommy decided she would get in the pool with Daddy and Zuri to play.  Aunt Julie and Uncle Kenny came to watch.  Zuri showed off her jumping skills.  She was very hesitant the first day they jumped.  In fact, she had to have Daddy hold her hand and then he basically just pulled her into the pool.  Today, however, she just jumped like she had no fear!  She would count to three and sometimes wouldn't even make it to three before jumping.  One time, she actually told me to scoot back some....apparently she was going to jump pretty far!!

After swim lesson, we went to Pizza King Station with Julie and Kenny.  Zuri was hopped up on something!!  She loved the train and was just all around excited.  After dinner, the girls went to Dairy Queen.  Zuri sat quietly at the table and ate her ice cream.  Then she had her bath and let Julie read her a book.  She went to bed around 8pm which is late for her.  :o)

Changes

Unless you've been under a rock the past week, you know Zuri started a new school today.  I was concerned with how drop off would go this morning.  I figured I would have to leave her crying ---- and I did.  I didn't know how nap time would go since she would be on a cot and in a new environment.  I was worried she would be left out.  I was just plain worried.  So.....I got to work and within an hour, the school called to tell me how she was doing.  Okay, so maybe I initiated the call.  Details, details, details.  Anyway, Bonnie (the Director/Owner) said she was playing and smiling and doing just fine.  I don't know why I worried.  Zuri is very personable and gets along well with others.  She adapts to situations quickly.  Nonetheless, I called Daddy to see how her day was since he picks her up.  He said the teacher said she did great!  As you can see from her daily note, she ate very well, napped well, and enjoyed a magic show today.  :o)  Daddy stopped and picked Zuri up a special treat (a frosty from Wendy's) for having such a great day!

See You Later

Today was Zuri's last day at her current school. I said on Facebook that it would be a bittersweet day. I'm excited for Zuri's new venture in her education, but we love her teachers and it was hard to leave. I cried when I dropped her off this morning and even skipped taking Brent's donut for Donuts for Daddies!  We didn't say goodbye......just see you later. Claudia, Sherri, Cory, Lucy, Haylie, Melissa, and Laura - we love you!  Thanks for the memories!

Cake Boss

Today, Zuri played with the other Bree in her life.  :o)  Tony, Bree, and Paige came by to play.  I think Zuri is a bit too active for the pre-teens.  LOL  Anyway, they had fun and when Zuri woke up from her nap, she immediately asked where they were.

I've been baking all day --- homemade icing, fondant, cake.  After Zuri's nap, I let her help me make the cake mix to make cupcakes.  She did really well!  Next Cake Boss?  In the words of Zuri, "could be."

OLG Festival

On Friday night, we met Anne and Bri at the Our Lady of Greenwood festival.  Zuri and Bri played a few games and won some goodies.  Actually, Zuri just walked up and grabbed the goodies.  We had to keep a close eye on her!  Zuri really enjoyed the Merry Go Round and the Crazy Bus!  Here are some pictures from the festival.
So cute!!!

They are in the front --- Bri has her arms up.  :o)

Zuri's New Friends

We had visitors tonight for a cookout -- Andy, Anne, and Anne's daughter, Bri.  Zuri and Bri had never met before.  They were shy at first, but quickly started playing together.  Zuri insisted on Anne pushing her in the swing.  I tried to relieve Anne of that duty, but Zuri told me no and told me that she wanted Anne to push her.  We sat down to eat and within 5 minutes, Zuri was up and asking Anne to push her!  When it was time to leave, Zuri seemed calm and cool.  She hugged Anne, gave Bri and Andy high fives.  But once we came back inside, she ran to the window and cried and kept crying out, "Anne!"  It took a good 5-10 minutes for her to calm down.  LOL  After bath, Zuri was asking about Bri then.  :o)

Fun-Filled Weekend!

Zuri has had a very fun weekend.  It started with an afternoon with Aunt Noonie (Junie).  Zuri had ice cream, cake pops, and ended up getting a new Minnie Mouse doll.

Saturday, we went to Long John Silver's for lunch for their open house.  Zuri loved the eye patch.....as a necklace.  We won a ticket to Holiday World while we were there!
My cousin, Justin, got married Saturday.  While we were at the wedding, Papaw John watched Zuri.  They had fun together as you can see.  :o)

Today, on our way home from the grocery store, Zuri was smelling her feet.  So cute!!
We went to Ralph and Lane's for dinner to celebrate birthdays (Lane and Quentin) and a graduation (Lars).  On the way, Zuri insisted on wearing my sunglasses.  Before we left, she walked around with the umbrella and then sat in the swing.  She also walked away with a nifty new wooden rocking chair just her size!
