Zuri's 1st Christmas

Zuri's first Christmas was absolutely wonderful.  She had so much fun opening gifts and playing with tissue paper.  :o)  We had some Christmas gatherings before Christmas day.  This post will focus on Christmas day only.

Here are pictures of what Santa left Zuri.

Zuri must have known it was Christmas because she woke up at 5:30 a.m. and was ready to go.

Zuri ate and then we went straight into opening gifts.  She did pretty well.  We had to help her open gifts, but she really did a good job of tearing the paper off herself.

Around 9:30, the Aunt Js (Junie and Julie) came over with gifts for Zuri.

While we were getting ready to go to my dad's, Zuri decided to give herself kisses.  Isn't this the cutest thing ever?!

We went to my dad's at 2:00 p.m.  Grandpa John made Zuri a bank.  He even put her name on it.  Here's a picture of her with it on Christmas day and then a picture from today so you can see it better.  She is excited to get that bank filled up!  :o)

Oh, and here's a picture with Aunt Brandii.  I love the face Brandii is making.  HA!

Zuri was so tired that this is what she did on the way home.

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  Brent and I sure did.  We got to spend it with the best gift ever.

Early Christmas

On Saturday, we had 2 Christmas gatherings to attend.

Here's a picture of Zuri with her cousin Claire (they are 9 days apart) at our first gathering:

Here's a picture at our 2nd gathering:

Today was my grandma's funeral.  We took Zuri for a few hours.  The Aunt Js picked her up about 2:30 so Zuri didn't have to stay the entire time we were there.  She did really well.  She ended up taking a nap for about 30-40 minutes.  She decided to wear the outfit Aunt Tammy bought her for Christmas.  Notice the pink Converse shoes.

Rest in Peace Grandma Ferrell

My dad's mom passed away this morning.  It's been a rough day to say the least, but my princess can always put a smile on my face and make me laugh.

It's been a long time...

Okay, so more like a week since I last blogged.  Sorry.  It's been a crazy week!  Zuri's had a nasty cold for more than a month now.  We did antibiotics and that didn't help so we went back today and also had Zuri's 9 month checkup.  She has an ear infection so we got a new antibiotic today.  Hopefully that clears it up and gets rid of her cough.  As far as her checkup goes, she is growing beautifully.  She did drop down to the 70s for length percentile.  Still in the 90s for weight and head.  I told her we don't like anything under 90% so she needs to grow some.  :)

Here are a couple pics from the last week!

Do you think these gifts lasted more than 12 hours without Zuri trying to get them?

If you said yes, you were wrong!  She didn't destroy them, but she did crawl to them and try eating them!

Christmas PJs, photo shoot, puffs, and more!

We broke out the 1st set of Christmas PJs last night!

Today was Zuri's 9 month picture shoot with Becky Batchelor (http://beckybatchelor.com/).  It went very well.  Can't wait to see a sneak peek!  Here's a picture I took of her 1st outfit minus the dress.  Now I know this looks as though it's a dress, but it really isn't.  Gymboree didn't have that read sweater in 18-24 months so I bought a 2T!!  LOL  It really did look gorgeous as a sweater dress!  :)

We changed to a 2nd outfit.  Isn't she the cutest thing ever?  You might notice some puffs on the floor.  We had to bribe her with puffs towards the end of the shoot.

She decided to save one for later.

Zuri took a well deserved nap after the photo shoot.  Too bad she didn't take an afternoon nap!  After her bath, we were playing in the living room and she decided to use her exersaucer a different way.

We are so blessed to have a great little girl!
