Magic Restoration

Zuri told us tonight that she accidentally touched our elf, Author, while trying to tell him a secret. She was devastated. We researched and found that if you apologize to your elf and sprinkle cinnamon around your elf, his magic will be restored. He will then be checked out by the doctors at the North Pole.

Zuri apologized to Author and told him she hoped the doctor could fix him.  We then put some cinnamon around him.

Author got his hands dirty getting out of the cup holder.

Zuri will find Author in her baby brother's crib with a note to her. :o)

In 2 short days, I've come a long way from, "I refuse to get an Elf on the Shelf because I don't want to move it around!"

Merry Grinchmas

We celebrated Christmas with the Gills today. It was a Grinch theme!  My friend is a super talented face painter and agreed to come paint our faces. :o)

Zuri with Aunt Tammy.
Zuri with Aunt Dina.
Zuri and Claire with Jack trying to sneak in a photo bomb. :o)
Time for presents!  Zuri thoroughly loved her Take Care of Me Lambie from Grandma and Grandpa Gill.
More gifts!
The girls took turns playing horse. Haha!

We had so much fun that Zuri zonked out on the way home!

Good night everybody...

Letter to Santa

This morning, we decided to write a letter to Santa and take it downtown to mail it. She asked for a stuffed animal Lambie and a stuffed animal kitty. :o)
Zuri loved the idea of being downtown.
To get this next picture, I had to bribe Zuri with Starbucks!
Starbucks was right across the street so we stopped in.
After Starbucks, Zuri wanted to go to the observation deck of the monument. The elevator doesn't go all the way up - you still have to take 3 flights of stairs. The stairs are very narrow and the rails were very wet!  Not a good combination for a pregnant woman and a 4 year old. I barely fit with my prego belly and then Zuri slipped on our way down. She is okay, it mostly scared her. Anyway, we can say we did it now. Ha!

On the elevator ride up.  It was right in there too!
On the observation deck.
After we got done, we looked around the gift shop.
After we got done there, we stopped by IPL to see their tree. Zuri was fascinated.
I talked Zuri into taking a #loveindy picture too!

The last stop was lunch and then home. Later today, we have the Gill Family Christmas. Brent is dressing like the Grinch and Zuri will be Cindy Lou Who.

Stay tuned!!

Fun Filled Friday!

Zuri's Friday was full of fun!  She went on a field trip to the IRT to see Peter Rabbit and Me. Her teacher sent me this picture and I started to cry (stinkin' pregnancy hormones!). Why does she look so grown up??  Zuri couldn't wait to tell us all about the play when we picked her up.  She wants to go back.

She was only home with us for a couple hours before we took her back to school for Kids' Night Out (a/k/a Parents' Night Out). She was excited to go!  She was able to wear her PJs. :o)
When we picked her up (before the scheduled end time), she asked to stay longer because they were getting ready to have brownies. lol. She got her brownie and then we left.
