Zuri was very excited to see that the Easter Bunny left her an awesome basket full of goodies on the back step and hid several eggs throughout the house!
After the inside egg hunt and after a visit from Papaw John and Mamaw Andrea, we went to have Easter with the Hensons and their families. Zuri made out like a bandit!
After the Henson gathering, we went to the Gonalez family for Easter. I'm a bad Mommy and didn't get any pictures there. :(
We had a wonderful Easter and we hope everyone else did too!!!
This blog will be about our daughter, Zuri, and all of her achievements and milestones. This will also allow me to keep friends and family updated with pictures and other news about Zuri even if it's not an achievement or milestone!

Spring!!
We know the calendar says Spring started over a week ago, but the weather begged to differ. Today was very nice though! We dyed Easter eggs and went to Tony's for a cookout. Papaw John also came over to help work on Zuri's swing set. We can't wait for more days like this. :o)

Shawn and Mandy
Brent's cousin, Shawn and his wife, Mandy, came in town for the holiday weekend. They met us for dinner Thursday and spent the night with us. Zuri wasn't sure about Shawn but when she woke up Friday, she asked where Shawn and Mandy were. She would NOT stop talking about them. :) Here are pics from dinner. See how she's running away from Shawn in the left picture. HA!!

I counted to 3....
We have been having Zuri pick up her toys before bath each night. When she won't help, I put her in time out. I give her plenty of notice. I tell her, "I am going to count to 3 and if you don't start cleaning, you are going in time out." I count as slowly as possible and if she doesn't start cleaning up, I follow through with my statement! She does her time out and then is ready to help clean up. :o) Anyway, I sent this picture to my dad and a few of my aunts. Boy, they gave me hell about it! LOL I told them Zuri may be a princess, but she needs some rules! My dad says I am in big trouble............

Go Bye-Bye
Zuri stayed home today with Daddy while Mommy went to a children's consignment sale and a luncheon. When I got home, Zuri almost immediately said she wanted to go bye-bye. I think she had some cabin fever. :o) We did go bye-bye and here she is with her shades on and her purse on her lap, ready to go!

Happy Birthday, Claire Bear!
Zuri's cousin, Claire, was born just 9 days after Zuri. We helped celebrate her birthday today. :o) If you keep up with the blog, you know Zuri got a Dora bike for her birthday. You also know that Claire Bear LOVED it! Well, Claire got her own Dora bike today.
Here's a cute video of Zuri and Claire playing chicken with the bikes. LOL
Zuri and Claire also enjoyed rocking in Claire's room.

Where's Daddy??
We went to the Hensons' house for dinner tonight and Brent got suckered into playing hide and seek. It was Brent's turn to hide and this was his hiding spot. Lila tried to "help" him out and Zuri too. :)

Spoiled Rotten
Zuri is spoiled rotten. We bought her bday gifts (Doc McStuffins stuffed animals, bath crayons, and a Hello Kitty from Build-A-Bear equipped with a shirt, underwear, and pants). Then she had her birthday party yesterday and received an insane amount of gifts and money. Today, we went to Toys R Us with Papaw John to look at swing sets. We ended up with Doc McStuffins PJs and a doctor outfit for Halloween (planning ahead, thanks to Daddy). Guess what else we bought..........
Spoiled rotten, I tell you. I know, I know.....we didn't have to buy the swing set. Who are we kidding though, she's our little Princess and as long as we are able, we will spoil her! ;o)
Daddy and Papaw John are going to be busy this weekend!

Birthday Party
Today was Zuri's birthday party. It was also my and Brent's 5th anniversary. :o) We had a great turnout at the party. Always a big crowd - about 45 people. Here are some pictures from today. Brent's cousin took some pictures at the party. I will share those once she posts them!!
Just want to show off her ponytail. So cute!! |

Seven Hundred Thirty
Do you know what life was like 731 days ago? I sure don't remember. Life forever changed for me and Brent 730 days ago. 730 days ago, at 8:48am, Zuri Lane Schulz was born. She has brought so much joy to our lives. Words cannot adequately explain the love we have for her. We have watched her grow into such a smart, beautiful, fun, and loving little girl.
To celebrate Zuri's 2nd birthday (2nd birthday......did I really just say that?!), we went to Scotty's Brewhouse for dinner. Of course that is where Zuri wanted to go. :o) She had on her birthday outfit and got several birthday wishes! She even scored a free dessert. We also took in cupcakes to school so she could celebrate with her friends. She told me she had fun. I took tomorrow off so we can have a Mommy and Zuri day!
Pictures from today are at the end of the post.
What Zuri's up to right now:
Zuri Lane,
You have no idea how much Daddy and I love you. We never understood when someone said, "I can't remember life without my child(ren)." until the exact moment you were born.
You amaze us daily. You are such an intelligent girl. We have no doubt you will do great things in your life.
We love you more than words can say.
Love,
Mommy & Daddy

What Zuri's up to right now:
- She can say the alphabet.
- She can count to 14.
- She can count to 10 in Spanish.
- She knows her colors and is all about asking, "What color?" I encourage her to tell me the colors!
- She loves Doc McStuffins, Special Agent Oso, Sophia the Princess, Minnie, and so on!
- She loves all her babies and has to have at least 15 of them in the bed with her.
- She puts her babies in her chair to feed them and says, "Hungry, baby?"
- She puts her babies in the toy storage container (after dumping all the toys on the floor that were stored in said container) so they can nap.
- She turns out the light in the living room when the babies nap and tells me and Brent, "Shhhhh! Baby sleeping."
- Her babies only get a 10 second nap.
- She says, "Check your diaper, baby? Diaper change, baby?" and proceeds to undress the babies to check the diaper. After checking the diaper, Zuri says, "Shewee! Stinky baby!!"
- She is into playing Hide-N-Seek which basically means we hide under the covers in Mommy and Daddy's bed and wait for the other parent to find us. It's very difficult to find Zuri because she
squeals with excitementis quiet as a mouse while hiding. - She can work my iPhone and Brent's iPad better than some adults I know.
- She loves to play "Money in the Bank" which means she
suckerspolitely asks someone for money to put in her piggy bank. - She loves to sing. Her favorites are "Twinkle, Twinkle", "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Jesus Loves Me", and "Wheels on the Bus". I love to listen to her sing!

1st Trip to Children's Museum
Zuri had her first experience at the Children's Museum today. We met my friend, Kristi, and her 3 kids (Anna, Maya, and Sam). Zuri had a blast! She actually even sat through a 25ish minute movie which surprised me.

She was out like a light before we even left the parking garage! |
