This blog will be about our daughter, Zuri, and all of her achievements and milestones. This will also allow me to keep friends and family updated with pictures and other news about Zuri even if it's not an achievement or milestone!

Shopping Spree
Today, the 3 Js (Aunts Julie and Junie as well as Papaw John) took Zuri to Pizza King Station for lunch and to give her gifts for her birthday since the party was a kid party. :o) Aunt Julie got Zuri some super cute outfits from Children's Place, a Frozen tiara, and an Olaf toy! Aunt Junie got Zuri an Elsa Barbie Doll and Anna Barbie doll that play music from Frozen. Papaw John gave Zuri a gift card to Toys R Us so we went shopping tonight with Papaw. She isn't spoiled one bit. I don't have pictures from the lunch (well, a couple that were sent by text), but here are pictures from the shopping spree. I will update with pictures from Papaw John when he sends me some (hint, hint, Papaw)!!
Birthday Party
Saturday was Zuri's birthday party at her dance studio, Stage 1 Dance Academy. There were only 2 things I had to do for this party: 1) send the invites out; and 2) show up! Ms. Katie, who is also Zuri's dance instructor, did everything else!!! I did end up buying a few party favors, but that wasn't necessary because Ms. Katie also had treat bags!! We started off with some warm up stretches, then dancing and other activities. After about 30ish minutes, the kids had snacks and cake. While Zuri opened gifts, Ms. Katie and her assistant set up for the make-over and fashion show. The kids sat and watch Sofia the First while Ms. Katie did makeup and painted nails. The boys even had activities to do during this time. Once everyone was ready, the kids put on a little fashion show for us. They were all so cute! Zuri was very excited for her party and I think all her friends had fun at the party!! We want to thank everyone, again, for coming to her party. :o)
Baby Logan
Saturday morning, we watched my co-worker's son, Logan. Zuri was super excited to help watch him! She actually said he could just stay here all the time. When I asked where he would sleep, she said, "My bed!" So cute. :o)
The picture on the left is Zuri "napping" like Logan behind her. :o) The middle picture was one in a series of selfies we took. That leaves the one on the right. Logan's face is priceless! That was taken shortly after he woke up from his nap and Zuri placed that toy on his head. He was not a fan!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Sweet Zuri!!
Today is Zuri's 3rd birthday. I say it every year, but I cannot believe how fast time is flying. Zuri is growing into such a little lady - a smart little lady. We started the morning with some phone calls, texts, and even FaceTime with Papaw John! We also opened 1 gift - the Frozen soundtrack so we listened to it on the way to school (meaning, we listened to "Let it Go" about 5 times).
I left work early to take cupcakes to school for snack. Zuri's friends were so excited when I arrived with the cupcakes! After the cupcakes, we sat on the carpet for a story read by Ms. Genny. Max wanted to sit right by me and Zuri. He's so cute!
When we got home, it was time to open the rest of Zuri's gifts! She got all Frozen stuff from Mommy and Daddy! :o)
Grandma & Grandpa Schulz came over and took us to dinner and when we got back home, we watched TV and we took some pictures. Zuri wanted to take pictures too. She actually isn't too bad!
This is a picture I took of Zuri taking the picture just after this one!
Here are a couple other pictures I took while Grandma & Grandpa were over.
Aunt Brandii also came by tonight.
Tomorrow is Zuri's birthday party at her dance studio (Stage 1 Dance Academy). She is very excited! She is also excited to watch my co-worker's son tomorrow morning. Logan is 7 months old and is adorable! Stay tuned for posts about both events! :o)
I haven't written a note to Zuri in some time, so here we go.
Dear Zuri Lane,
Daddy and I are so very proud to be your parents. You are such a smart girl. You never cease to amaze us. You can almost count to 20. You know what street you live on. You know several colors in Spanish. Your vocabulary is amazing (in our opinion!). You are also very much a handful! We wouldn't change a thing though. One moment, you are being defiant and the next, you are a sweetheart. Oh, what the teenagers years will be like...... HA!
Some things you enjoy right now:
This past year brought about a lot of new and exciting things. You switched schools, had your first road trip, your first overnight stay somewhere without us, you started wearing big girl panties 24/7, watched your first movie in the theaters, and so much more! We cannot wait to see what the next year brings.
We love you more than you will ever know,
Mommy & Daddy

Princesses and Pirates
First thing Saturday morning, Zuri decided to dress up as Cinderella. By first thing, I mean 7am. She was dressed as Cinderella while we made pancakes!
She kept the dress on all day long!!! Daddy went on a road trip so Zuri, I mean Cinderella, and I had lunch and went shopping with Aunt Julie and Papaw John. On our way out of Target, Zuri decided it was nap time. :o)
After a short nap, we went down to see Uncle Gary and Skittles. We got home, ordered pizza, and hung out with Papaw, Aunt Brandii, Jeremy, and Jonathan. Zuri made us all (minus Papaw) play Duck, Duck, Goose. That's her new favorite game! Here's a picture of her with Jonathan.
This morning, Papaw John brought us donuts for breakfast. Zuri would eat the sprinkles off her donut and then hold her hands up like a monster and say, "Rawrrrr!!"
After breakfast, Zuri read to us. She had to help Papaw with his Spanish (via Dora the Explorer). :o)
Today, Zuri went to her first classmate birthday party. The theme was Jake & The Neverland Pirates. Max was so excited to see Zuri when we walked in. It was cute! The cake was awesome and was made by Max' grandpa!
After cake, it was time to sing to Max and go play. At Incredible Pizza, the birthday boy or girl gets to sit in a golden chair out front and everyone sings happy birthday. Zuri wanted to sit in the chair with Max. It really was cute to see the two of them together!
Then it was time to play. Zuri had a blast!
Finally, we had dinner with Andy, Anne, and Bri. It was a late night for Zuri. She didn't get to bed until almost 9! :o)
We hope everyone else had a great weekend!
P.S. This Friday is Zuri's 3rd birthday. I can't believe it!!!
