Wonderful Weekend

We started the weekend with playing at the Y after work Friday. We ran into Zuri's school friend, Angeline and her mom. The girls enjoyed playing together while the adults chatted. 

Saturday morning, Zuri had her first private swim lesson at the Y. We are so proud of her. She did a terrific job!!  Towards to end she even swam a little without any floatation devices!!

Saturday evening, we went to Jinger's Open House. Check out those braces.  Zuri did a great job with wearing them during the Open House. She's such a big girl. 

Zuri had a blast playing with all the kids. They made up this Farmer game. Apparently it's like tag. Two people have hula hoops (the farmers) and everyone else is an animal and the farmers try to get the animals with the hula hoops. :)

After the Open House, we decided to watch the Greenwood fireworks. We met up with Tony, Anthony, Breeana, Wavie, Joann, Abbie, and Asher. 

Abbie and Zuri had a fun time. They also enjoyed beating up on Tony. lol

Today, Zuri went to Eric's and Karen's while we went to the store and cleaned her room. We went to pick her up and she was napping with Trevor. How sweet is this?!

After cleaning out her room, we let Zuri put up TMNT wall decals. She opted to leave the Frozen wall decals on the wall too. Who doesn't love Elsa AND the Turtles??!!

Dance Like Nobody's Watching

We went to Shoe Carnival tonight to find shoes Zuri can wear with her braces. I kept having her walk away from me and back to me. She started dancing as she was walking and then danced at the end of her walk!  She ran back in this video because there were people in the aisle. :)

Wordless Wednesday

Bella, Braces, and Broadway!

Last night, Zuri helped clean Bella's litter box. We will see how long that lasts!

Here's a picture of Bella. She's still in hiding, but has come out at night for a bit. By night, I mean 12:30am until 3am. :)

Today, we had to go get Zuri's braces to help stop her toe walking. She loved the room we were in and loved the pattern of the braces. She should love it, she got to pick the pattern! It's Rapunzel if you can't see it clearly. We have to ease her into wearing them - an hour or two through the weekend and then full time next week. 

After picking up braces, we went to the dance studio for a Broadway camp!  Zuri loved it.  Their routine was adorable!  They each took turns directing and got to sit in the Director's Chair. 

I will end this post with Zuri's picture from this morning because I think it's just too cute not to share!!  We take a picture each morning for Daddy and also for Julie, Junie, and Tina (I get harassed come 8am if I don't send one!) ;)

Happy Father's Day!

We had a great Father's Day weekend. Yesterday, we took Papaw John and Papaw Schulz to lunch. We took advantage of the nice weather and ate outside. 

Today, I went out and bought Long's Donuts for Brent and my dad. Brandii and Justice came over too. 

After Papaw, Brandii, and Justice left, it was time to celebrate with Grandpa Gill. Randy and Tammy hosted a cookout and pool party!  Zuri was in the pool almost nonstop from noon until 5:30!

She zonked on the way home but woke up once we put her in bed. It'll be an early bedtime tonight for all of us!

Bella Schulz

We went to the Indy Mega Adoption Event yesterday and adopted a cat!  Bella is a year old, tan and white, and very cute. She is still very scared so I don't have a picture of her to show you. We were told it could be up to a week before she relaxes and comes out of hiding. Zuri was so excited to adopt her!  She was the 200th cat to be adopted yesterday. 

Zuri talked to Bella the entire way home. She told Bella all about the house. It was super cute!

Recap...

I was chastised today for not updating the blog over the past couple weekends. ;)

Here's a recap of what Zuri has been up to. 

We attended Trevor's open house. Once Shelby appeared, it was game over.  She loves Shelby!

Zuri made everyone put the flower in their hair and she took their pictures. :)

The next day, Papaw brought over donuts and Zuri decided to have Pringles with her donut.  She's a little strange. lol

Last Thursday, we went to the St. Mark festival. Zuri enjoyed the pony ride and the bounce houses. She didn't want to leave!!

We grabbed some ice cream before leaving. 

And played in the bubbles!

This past weekend, Zuri fell asleep while I was holding her. It was so sweet. I miss those moments. 

Saturday night, Zuri was trying to get something (I can't remember what she wanted) so she said, "I'll give you the puppy dog face."  Despite the puppy dog face, I said no (evil mom, I know)!!

That about covers it. :) Hope you're satisfied, Aunt Junie. Hahaha!
