Punishment?

Zuri got in trouble last night for getting into the Vick's Vapor Rub (it was EVERYWHERE!). I told her no TV today. You would've thought I cut off her arm. Anyway, we decided since we weren't watching TV, that we would go swim in the neighbors' pool!  Carol was gracious enough to let us. We had a blast. :)

Ice Cream and Pizza and Minnie Mouse, Oh My!!

We went to Dairy Queen last night after dinner. Zuri was excited for her ice cream cone!

Isn't this how you eat an ice cream cone?!

We met Uncle Jon, Jack, Claire, and Grandpa and Grandma Gill for lunch at Jockamo Pizza. Yummy!

Jon and Jack.

Me and the girls.

The girls.

Zuri has been in her big girl bed all week and loves it!  I bought her Minnie Mouse bedding.

Oh, and just because I think this is adorable, I will leave you with this picture.

Pool Crashers

This morning, while we were outside playing, I suggested we go swimming in our neighbors' pool.  We ate lunch and then Zuri (and Mommy) napped so it was decided we wouldn't swim until the afternoon!  After nap, we got ready and headed over to the pool.  The water was actually pretty cold, but we couldn't turn back because Zuri was too excited!  I'm glad we didn't go back home.  Zuri had so much fun.  We took her arm floaties (this was her first time using them).  She was hesitant, at first, to us letting go of her.  After only a few minutes, she was loving her "freedom" and was swimming all around.  :o)  Here are some pictures and a video!  Oh, and, we did get permission from our neighbors to swim.  LOL

First Night of Dance

Wordless Wednesday will continue next week!  Tonight was Zuri's first night of dance.  Rachael and Alana joined us.  We met up for dinner and then went to dance.  Zuri was very excited about dance; Alana was undecided.  The 2 year old class is the only class that parents are allowed to observe and participate.  We get in the room, the instructor starts the music, asks everyone to get in a circle, and Zuri starts crying.  Alana wasn't crying, I don't think, but she was clingy.  Both girls were very clingy and wouldn't do anything!  After a few minutes, Alana warmed up and participated.  Zuri and I ended up sitting in the chairs at the edge of the room.  When it came time for the obstacle course, Zuri said she wanted to go do tuck and rolls.  She didn't end up doing them.  More crying!  She finally participated (slightly) with the scarfs.  At the end of class, she did enjoy the stamp and the sucker.  She told me she wanted to go back next week.  I sure hope next week is better!!!  :o)

Potty Training Update:  Zuri only had 1 accident today and it was a #2 which I know will take longer to master!!!!

Potty Time!!!

Zuri has been interested in using the potty for quite some time now.  She just never really "got it" though.  She would try and try at school and she just had to go to the bathroom WHEREVER we went!  Our trip to Illinois the 4th of July was interesting because of this.  HA!  We started a Potty Chart and told her she would get a sticker every time she went pee pee on the potty.  If she filled the entire week, she'd get a big prize.  She was very excited about this, but still didn't pee in the potty every day.  No big deal because she's only 2.  Well, then she moved to the 2 and a half year old class at school where all the kids are working on potty training.  After a week in that class, Zuri "got it"!!  Brent sends me a text every day after picking Zuri up to tell me how she did and 1 week ago today, the text said "Zuri peed in the potty 8 times today!"  I wasn't sure if this was a fluke - one time thing - or what.  It wasn't a fluke!  She has been peeing in the potty for the past week with only a few accidents.  We had a birthday party Saturday and she even peed in the potty at Rascal's Fun Zone 3 times and kept her pull up dry!!  On Sunday, we decided to put her in big girl panties and not look back.  She had 4 accidents, but overall, did really well!!  Only 1 accident yesterday.  Today, Ms. Kensey is going to try panties at nap time.  We'll see how that goes.  I'm sure that'll take some to get down pat, but that's okay.  Zuri has made potty training seem pretty easy so far.  For that, I'm thankful.  Now, Zuri, please slow down on growing up!

Dance class starts tomorrow night with Rachael and Alana.  Stay tuned!!!

Here are some pictures from the past few days.
Zuri and Bri after dinner Thursday!

Zuri being goofy.

Zuri got ice cream as a treat for doing so well with peeing on the potty.  We were supposed to share this blizzard....

Timeout

Zuri put Daddy in timeout after he "hit" Mommy. By hit, I mean he threw a blanket at me. Hahaha

A little of this, a little of that

We decided to go get ice cream Thursday after dinner.  Daddy thought an ice cream cone for Zuri would be a good idea (we weren't in his car!).  Lucky for him, she did great and didn't make a mess.  ;o)

After ice cream, we played on the swing set for a little bit.

Today, Zuri and I had lunch with Aunt Julie and Papaw John.  Zuri loves to throw money in water fountains.  Papaw was a sucker nice and gave her some money to throw in.
Before bath, we watched Caillou.  Zuri loves that show.  Me, not so much.  She did go pee pee on the potty though, so I let her watch an episode.  Hey, whatever it takes to get her to pee on the potty!
